- We had reported on the shoulder injury sustained by former multi-time WWE World champion Randy Orton, which is expected to keep him out of action until after Wrestlemania 32. However, things are worse than that if reports are to go by.
Orton may need neck surgery once he is done with the shoulder surgery that put him out of action. While the neck surgery isn’t expected to be as severe as the shoulder surgery, there is a possibility that it could turn out to be another major one. As of now, it is just expected to be an operation to clean out bone chips in his neck.
If in case the damage to Orton’s neck is more than what is being predicted, he may even need to undergo a neck fusion surgery.
While the shoulder surgery is expected to keep ‘The Viper’ out of action till after next year’s Wrestlemania, the neck surgery may need another 3-6 months. However, the neck surgery wouldn‘t happen unless the doctors give a certain go-ahead following the shoulder surgery.
- Speaking of shoulder surgeries, Cesaro too underwent surgery on Monday, which was done by Dr. Jeff Dugas. We had reported on Cesaro sustaining a shoulder tear and continuing to wrestle hurt.
Cesaro is expected to undergo rehab under the watchful eyes of Dr. Kevin Wilk, who is also helping Seth Rollins rehab. Below is a picture of Cesaro, following the surgery:
Speaking of rehab, WWE posted the below video of former WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins beginning the rehab process for his knee. In the video, Rollins is upbeat about his progress and believes he is getting better every day.
Dr. Wilks states how the injury required complex surgery and rehab, but lauds Rollins’ motivation and predicts a full recovery. Rollins for his part, is confident he is coming back and getting ‘his’ world heavyweight title back.
