Pestock played offensive tackle for the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He acquired a contract with WWE in 2012 under the ring name Baron Corbin and was assigned to their developmental brand, NXT, where he was a heel known as the "Lone Wolf."

Corbin debuted on the main roster at WrestleMania 32 after winning the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. He went on to win the 2017 Money in the Bank men's ladder match as well as the WWE United States Championship once.

Corbin started a feud with Kurt Angle after being crowned Constable of Raw in 2018, and it concluded at WrestleMania 35 when Corbin defeated Angle in his retirement match. A few months later, he won the 2019 King of the Rings tournament, at which point he changed his name to King Corbin.

In 2021, he assumed the name Happy Corbin and began portraying a carefree character who had accumulated a substantial amount of wealth. After that, he and Madcap Moss had a brief association. In 2022, he resumed going by the Baron Corbin alias. From 2022 until 2023, he was supervised by JBL, after which he rejoined NXT.

Corbin declared his intention to challenge for the NXT Championship at Gold Rush on June 27 when he made an appearance on NXT on May 30 and fought NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes. For the first time since 2018, Corbin's original Lone Wolf persona, entrance theme, and gear were displayed at the event; however, Hayes prevailed over him to keep the NXT Championship.
