Bayley is currently the WWE Women's Champion, serving on SmackDown. However, her title reign hasn’t been particularly iconic, which has left some fans disappointed. In addition to this current situation, a previous incident reminiscent of Bayley and SummerSlam occurred when Nia Jax's actions caused an injury that forced the 35-year-old star to miss The Biggest Party of the Summer.
Back on the road to SummerSlam 2017, Alexa Bliss was the RAW Women’s Champion. The Hugger and former WWE star Sasha Banks (now known as Mercedes Mone) emerged as the main contenders for Bliss's title. The reason why the current champion was claiming her title shot was due to her pinning Alexa in a tag team match.
This led to a number-one contender match between the 35-year-old star and Banks, which The Hugger won. As a result of this, she earned herself a RAW Women's title match against Bliss at SummerSlam 2017.

However, just weeks before SummerSlam, Bayley wrestled former world champion Nia Jax on Monday Night RAW. Unfortunately, this match resulted in a real-life shoulder injury for her, forcing her to withdraw from her title match despite being the number one contender.
In response to this injury, WWE scheduled two Triple Threat matches, with the winners set to replace The Hugger at SummerSlam 2017. Surprisingly, Sasha Banks defeated Nia Jax in the final match and became the replacement at SummerSlam. During the PLE, Banks also defeated Bliss to become the new RAW Women's Champion.
Why should Bayley be concerned about Nia Jax for SummerSlam 2024?
At this year's Biggest Party of the Summer, Bayley will defend her WWE Women's title against Nia Jax in a singles bout. This title defense should be a major concern for the 35-year-old star due to her previous history with the Irresistible Force. As mentioned, Jax was responsible for Bayley missing SummerSlam 2017.
Currently, Nia Jax is riding a wave of momentum in the Stamford-based promotion. Since her return to WWE a few months ago, Jax has demonstrated supreme dominance. She won the Queen of the Ring tournament with minimal effort, highlighting her dominant status in WWE's women's division.
This presents a significant challenge for the current champion as she heads into this high-stakes title defense against the Irresistible Force. Many fans believe that Jax might emerge as the new champion at this upcoming PLE.
It remains to be seen what will transpire on August 3 at Cleveland Browns Stadium when the former Damage CTRL leader faces Nia Jax in this high-profile title bout.
