WWE Superstar Becky Lynch has been away from the company since May 2024. However, the Man recently signed a new contract with the Stamford-based promotion and is expected to return soon. Interestingly, she could return with a new character and turn on one of her friends, Lyra Valkyria, to dethrone her and become the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
This week on Monday Night RAW, Lyra Valkyria faced Dakota Kai in the final round of the Women’s Intercontinental Championship tournament. After a highly physical bout that either wrestler could have won, The Northern Angel emerged victorious after executing a Nightwish on Kai to seal the match.
With this, Valkyria has now become the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Interestingly, Becky Lynch could already be waiting to become the first wrestler to challenge the title run of the new champ. The duo hails from the same nation, Ireland, and have previously been temporary allies who watched each other’s backs against Damage CTRL.
WWE could make The Man turn heel and challenge her former ally. This could lead to a WrestleMania 41 confrontation where Lyra Valkyria must beat one of the company’s four horsewomen to keep her belt. While this is a significant direction the story can take, all of this is speculation.
Becky Lynch could also target Rhea Ripley
Before her exit from WWE, Becky Lynch was the Women’s World Champion. Liv Morgan dethroned her and later lost her steel cage rematch against The Miracle Kid. While The Man would have targetted The Judgment Day member again, the title has changed hands, and Rhea Ripley is the champion again.
Lynch and The Eradicator had clashed for the Women’s World Championship back at WrestleMania XL, with Mami retaining her title. Thus, The Man wants to settle that score with the Aussie and challenge her for the championship gold.
With the 2025 Royal Rumble approaching, Becky Lynch could win the 30-woman contest to challenge Ripley for a second consecutive WrestleMania match. Moreover, Liv Morgan could also ask for a rematch, which might force The Eradicator to defend her championship in a Triple Threat match.
This would remove disqualification rules from the match, giving The Judgment Day member an advantage. It would be interesting to see what the future holds for these top female superstars.
