Becky Lynch: The First Female Anti-hero in the WWE

No other Female superstars have stood up to The uthority as The Man has

The most talked-about superstar in the entire WWE, Becky Lynch's journey from languishing in the women's division to becoming the hottest thing in wrestling today has been nothing short of scintillating. The Man has been the biggest star in the company and has captured the imagination of the fans like only few have had before. Lynch has been unstoppable in the ring, and has knocked it out of the park every time she has held a microphone. At this point, it is almost a given that she will be main-eventing WrestleMania 35, when she challenges Ronda Rousey for RAW Women's Championship.

But, much like the many greats before her, Lynch was never meant to be in the position that she is in right now. While Lynch was always a great worker with incredible mic skills, the company failed to capitalize on her skills until the crowd support behind her forced them to change their mind. While it isn't fair to compare superstars from different eras, given how much the business has changed, we believe that Lynch is the closest the WWE has come to creating the female version of Stone Cold Steve Austin.

WWE has had trailblazers like Trish Stratus, Lita, AJ Lee, and Paige, but none of them have been able to invoke the kind of response from the crowd that Lynch has. The Irish Lasskicker will go down in history as one of the most over female superstars of all time. Her badass character along with her anti-authority personna has been a huge hit with the fans, who rallied behind The Man in a big way.

The reaction that Lynch gets every time she steps inside the WWE ring is reminiscent of the ovation Austin received during the Attitude Era. Lynch's recent spate of standing up to authority figures is exactly what Austin did during his heyday. Lynch is the first true anti-heroine in the WWE, and has excelled in that role.

The best thing about Lynch has been the fact that despite the parallels being drawn between her and Austin, she hasn't tried to clone the Texas Rattlesnake and has totally owned the character of a female badass. Her Sucker-Punching Charlotte at last week's SmackDown Live was just another example of Lynch's badassery, and The Irish Lasskicker has made the best of every opportunity she has been given.

Lynch's ascent to the top has seen male superstars like Seth Rollins take a backseat, as The Man has become the focal point of WWE's weekly programming heading into WrestleMania 35, and she is more than deserves the spot.
