Scorpio Sky pins Chris Jericho

Don't get me wrong, I love Scorpio Sky. Seeing him pin Chris Jericho tonight was definitely a cool moment from tonight's show. However, there is another aspect to this.

Tonight's show saw the AEW World Champion team with Sammy Guevara in his quest to become Double Champion by taking on the AEW Tag Team Champions SCU.

However, they were unsuccessful after an intense match, despite interference from Jake Hager who was present at ringside. Scorpio Sky was able to roll up Chris Jericho to get the pinfall and the win.

While seeing Sky get a big pin definitely suggests AEW's intention of pushing him, it also left a sour taste in the mouths of the fans. Sky might be a bright star, but him being able to pin Jericho when Cody had failed after so much at Full Gear seemed odd. That would not matter if AEW pursues this and sees Sky go for a title match later down the line, but with him holding the AEW Tag Team titles, that too is unlikely to happen.

As a result, the fans are left with their Champion pinned and possibly no fall-out from that.

With all of that said, tonight's Dynamite was another spectacular showing by AEW, for which they deserve full credit.
