Chris Jericho has been the AEW Champion for the longest time and it was time for a change of guard at the top of the food chain. Jon Moxley was the right person to take the title from Chris Jericho as well, to send the fans home happy.
These are two men who've known each other from their time in WWE and they obviously have a great deal of mutual respect for one another, and this ensured that the match was very good. It was also a great way to end the show since there were no major surprises as there have been in previous pay-per-view events, making it a memorable night.
Jon Moxley cut a very passionate promo at the end of the night and even dropped an F-bomb or two during the same. This is the third title change in AEW history after Riho dropped the title to Nyla Rose and SCU dropped theirs to Kenny Omega and Hangman Page, and was probably the most memorable one thus far.
