There were parts during the main-event segment when I genuinely forgot that I was watching a scripted segment. So good is Randy Orton as a heel that he just tends to suck you into the story and Beth Phoenix played her part brilliantly too, crying in front of thousands of people. Randy Orton's delivery was such that even an absurd claim like the one he made was told with the utmost sincerity and one almost bought into the act.

Of course, everyone knew that an RKO was coming but when Randy Orton hit it, the world was stunned. It's no big deal for Beth Phoenix at all considering that she's a consummate professional and so is Orton, and she could take an RKO without batting an eyelid. Randy Orton and Beth Phoenix are probably the best of friends in real life, so she probably even trusts him to be safe.

But yeah, what a great setup for Edge to make his triumphant return to the company!
