Smackdown has a big lean period before Survivor Series in mid-November. This could really be used to elevate stars who need the push, and the TV time to get over. While today’s show was really good, the focus was on established stars only.
Baron Corbin, American Alpha, Apollo Crews and Curt Hawkins could have used the time to develop their characters and connect with the audience in a far better way. That said, this was still better than Raw with its filler Golden Truth segment with the Shining Stars/Titus O’Neil.
