This week’s SmackDown Live was fun and entertaining. No doubt, it was better than RAW yesterday. The blue brand featured some good matches this week. These are the best and worst moments of this week's SmackDown Live.
#1 Best: Randy Orton RKOing everyone in sight
Randy Orton is known for his RKOs outta nowhere in WWE and since his return, he has been portrayed as a babyface. This episode indicated that ‘The Viper’ might turn heel and challenge Bobby Roode for the US Title at Fastlane or at WrestleMania 34.
Bobby Roode faced Rusev and it was an excellent match. Bobby Roode defeated Rusev and was celebrating his victory. Randy Orton appeared out of nowhere and delivered a powerful RKO which left Roode shocked and shattered. Randy Orton was not done yet, he then RKOed Aiden English who was checking on Rusev after the match. He also gave Rusev an RKO. The crowd went wild after seeing RKOs outta nowhere.
#1 Worst: No storyline for the Bludgeon Brothers
For those who are unaware, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan made their debut as a tag-team on the SmackDown Live roster a long time ago. But, they haven’t been in a feud since and are fighting local tag teams every week. If they are going to be on the match card at WrestleMania or Fastlane, they need to start a feud as early as possible. WWE writers are not involving them in any feud and they are being wasted every week. They are a fresh and new tag team and to show their supremacy, they need real competition. They need to fight the official tag teams of Smackdown Live.
#2 Best: Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens
There are many speculations that it is just a plan. Sami and Kevin started a fake feud so that both of them can fight AJ Styles and defeat him. Currently, they are feuding against each other and they are not in good terms. Zayn wants to step out of Owens’ shadow and he wants to become the WWE Champion and Owens has similar plans too. Their match on SmackDown Live was an excellent one. Even though it ended without a result (AJ Styles interrupted) the match proved to be of high quality. Despite seeing them wrestle so many times, they always manage to put up an amazing match together.
#2 Worst: Charlotte’s match with Liv Morgon
The match was short but definitely wasn’t sweet. The woman roster is getting very less time for their matches. Charlotte’s match against Liv Morgon was the only Woman’s Match this week. Their match was very one-sided with Charlotte registering a win very easily. Maybe the quality of the match would have been better if it had gotten more time.
#3 Best: The Usos Promo
This promo of The Usos was one of their best promos ever. It was relatively short but it recapped their story of the past year. They are not worried about being bright and crowd-pleasing. Going rogue really has helped them attain more than what they were when they were portrayed as babyfaces.
#3 Worst: Shane and Bryan’s Promo
The promo started off slow and rough. It is the same old promo which is going on and on for the past two months. Every episode of SmackDown Live features the same old opening promo. The feud is interesting and engaging but Shane and Bryan need to stop cutting every opening promo of SmackDown Live.Shane and Daniel’s animosity is very visible. The WWE Universe can expect a match between them at WrestleMania.
The main event could have created a lot of tension between the two of them which can act as a catalyst for their rumored match at WrestleMania 34. The promo was elevated when AJ Styles entered and left both the Commissioner and the General Manager flabbergasted.
