As good as the show was, it was far from perfect from a storytelling perspective. Why would Retribution logically crash RAW and SmackDown and choose to miss out on WWE SummerSlam 2020, considering that it's a much bigger show and there is a greater potential for vandalism during the night?
Also, Alexa Bliss, who was featured so prominently in the video package before the Universal Championship match at WWE SummerSlam 2020 was nowhere to be seen during the actual contest. Of course, she could always show up on the SmackDown following WWE SummerSlam 2020 but this just feels like a lost opportunity from a storytelling perspective.
