Last week was, as usual, a very newsworthy one in the world of WWE. WWE went to the Bay area (which incidentally is where Bayley is from).
The first ever women’s Hell In A Cell match was announced between Sasha Banks and Charlotte, Goldberg was announced to return back to WWE, Alberto Del Rio was named the president of an MMA organization, NXT announced their second-ever steel cage match for their upcoming Australian tour this December, two big names appeared in the latest NXT tapings, one of them being a shocking return, and so much more.
Let’s dive into the 25 most revealing Instagram posts of last week.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#25 Apollo Crews sees himself in a video game for the first time
Apollo Crews may not be prominently featured on SmackDown Live, but that doesn’t stop him from always smiling. The boyhood dream has come true for him already being on the roster, but there is no doubt that another boyhood dream came true when he finally got to see himself on the 2K17 video game.
He’s definitely going to be having fun playing as himself, just as anyone would.
#24 Summer Rae getting her fitness on
Summer Rae has been out now for a while with nagging injuries. Thankfully, she has been dealing with it and is now on the road to recovery.
Recently on twitter, some fans requested Raw General Manager Mick Foley to give Summer Rae a chance and helped point out some of her best matches. Hopefully, when she recovers and is back on the road, she will get the chance that she truly deserves and be an integral part of the Raw women’s division.
#23 Tommy Dreamer on ESPN
WWE’s relationship with ESPN has been expanding ever since last year.
While Tommy Dreamer isn’t necessarily part of the WWE roster, he is still on very good terms with them and comes in time and time again to help.
There has even been a backstage producer role offered to Dreamer, but unfortunately, taking the job would mean not being able to do House Of Hardcore anymore, something that is beloved to the fans and Dreamer himself. However, that won’t stop him from being on good terms with the company. Here you can see him talking on ESPN
#22 Chris Jericho with The Four Horsewomen of MMA (minus one)
Chris Jericho’s podcast Talk Is Jericho is an absolute treat to listen to, and if you’ve not already checked it out, then go ahead and do so right here.
Recently, he had the Four Horsewomen Minus One – Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir, and Jessamyn Duke. The missing piece there is Ronda Rousey, but we all know how busy she is, and perhaps even more so now that she is preparing for her big comeback at UFC 207 against Amanda Nunes for the UFC Bantamweight Championship.
Nevertheless, the podcast they had was a great one, and Y2J continued to prove why he is not only a wrestling legend but a podcasting legend as well!
#21 Xavier Woods enjoying the West Coast
Austin Creed, aka Xavier Woods, has been on a roll with his current WWE run where he is currently a WWE Raw Tag Team Champion.
He has also found a lot of success in his YouTube gaming channel titled UpUpDownDown. Here we see Xavier enjoying the Bay area, where WWE was last week. It looks like life really is good for Mr XavierWoods PhD.
#20 Charlotte isn’t like most girls
Sasha Banks may be the face of the women’s revolution, but Charlotte is the star. The ever-talented and confident 2-time Women’s Champion is among the busiest and has been so since joining the main roster.
She has been the workhorse of the division being in 14 consecutive Pay-Per-Views since her main roster debut. This is a record only second to Kevin Owens. She proclaims herself to be The Queen, and to be fair, it is hard to argue with that.
Here we see Charlotte putting over former NXT star Nia Jax, who is now on the same brand and looks to be serious competition for Charlotte!
19)Rich Swann carries on in NXT
Rich Swann has come up to be one of the most promising prospects for WWE.
He is currently in the Raw cruiserweight division and is also going back and forth to NXT. He impressed everyone in the Cruiserweight Classic and is also one of the Fullsail University fan-favourites.
His energy is absolutely infectious and it wouldn’t be surprising if it transmits onto the main roster audience, getting him over and helping him transcend the Cruiserweight division.
Can you handle this? Rich Swann definitely can!
#18 Jordan and Gable pushing each other to be the best
There is not a doubt in the world that while American Alpha are not only one of the hottest tag teams in WWE, both stars individually are world class athletes with the ability to break out big as singles stars.
The connection and chemistry between the two are uncanny, and they are breakout stars in the waiting. Right now, however, their destination is to be an all-time great tag team, and the ones who push them are only each other.
#17 Asuka continues her quest of conquering in Richmond
It has been over a year now that the undefeated NXT Women’s Champion started her path of destruction.
As NXT got raided this past summer, it left the women’s division with a lot of new talent rising up, but a lot of whom are not anywhere ready for The Empress Of Tomorrow. Asuka continued her trail of destruction in #NXTRichmond, and you can consider it conquered by the empress.
#16 Ember Moon plays golf for the ill
Ember Moon is arguably the hottest female prospect on NXT and the next big developmental star. Her talent in the ring is unquestionable, and there are only big things ahead for her.
Outside the ring, she continues to do great things. Recently she was with MMWUSA (Merlin’s Magic Wand USA), an organisation that deals with helping children with severe illnesses. Here she played a game of golf for them, seemingly having a good time!
15) TJP and Kota Ibushi dab it out!
In the latest set of NXT tapings, Kota Ibushi was supposed to team up with Hideo Itami in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
However, due to the latter getting injured at an NXT house show, Itami was unable to compete.
As a result, Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins came down to NXT to take his place. The pairing of Perkins and Ibushi were successful in their first match of the tournament, and as seen above, both the Cruiserweight stars did TJP’s standard dab, much to the delight of the Fullsail crowd
#14 Renee Young’s movie night
Talking Smack host Renee Young works on Tuesday nights and Sunday nights when there are PPVs.
During her time off, she loves going for hockey games, spending time with her family, and as seen in the picture, is dressed stunningly for a movie night. A well deserved off for the ever-talented host, among WWE’s most valuable assets.
#13 Tom Phillips looking dapper in his Smackdown Live suit
Tom Phillips has a tremendous amount of roles and responsibilities with the WWE.
He is an NXT commentator, an interviewer on the main roster, a host of some Network programs, and so much more. Tom always uses his Instagram to showcase his fascination of the Dapper suits he sports.
For a man of a respectable position such as his, he needs to be finely dressed. And finely dressed he always is!
#12 Baron Corbin goes one-on-one with Billy Gunn
The 2K17 fever is on, and the WWE superstars themselves seem to be overwhelmed and hooked onto it.
Here we see The Lone Wolf going up against Mr Ass Billy Gunn himself. Corbin puts over no legends, and unless he is really bad at the game, likely hit Mr Ass with the End Of Days.
#11 Alicia Fox sends her love out to Paige
Alicia Fox and Paige are practically best friends and road partners. Paige has been going through a tremendous lot right now, and last week after her second suspension and the Foxxy one had put out a beautiful picture of the two showing her support for her best friend who is on a roller coaster of a time right now.
Here is to hoping these two best friends get to travel together again next year!
#10 James Ellsworth re-lives his first victory over AJ Styles
Last week, James Ellsworth made his 3rd appearance for the WWE. In a shocking series of events including a botched Styles Clash, where AJ Styles saved Ellsworth’s life by a few seconds, Ellsworth pinned the WWE World Champion, albeit a little help from Dean Ambrose.
Naturally, it was arguably the biggest moment of his career until yesterday, where he defeated AJ Styles once more, however, by disqualification, thus failing to gain the WWE World Championship.
Ellsworth’s status with the WWE is unclear at this moment, but let's hope we get to see more of Pretty Jimmy Dream very soon.
#9 Charly Caruso gets her glam on Monday Nights
Interviewer Charly Caruso could not help but share the wonderful job the WWE Glam team did on her face and hair before this Monday Night on Raw.
Caruso was previously on NXT and then made the jump to Smackdown Live. However, she was then shifted to Monday Night Raw, a place she is now getting used to.
#8 Lita and her summer trip
WWE Hall Of Famer Lita now has a job as one of the panellists for WWE, where she is on the Pre-show, and she is also on PPV panels and around in other forms as well.
She has always made it clear how she feels it’s the best job ever. One of the few things she seems to love more is travelling and she posted a picture of her travelling around Yuba River, where she continued her gypsy adventures!
#7 Trish Stratus is going to be a mum again!
Lita’s BFF Trish Stratus is a mother of one, who recently announced that she was going to be a mother of two.
She recently announced that she was expecting once more. She was rumoured to have been considered to face Asuka for the NXT Championship at NXT Takeover: Toronto. However, due to her pregnancy announcement, it was Mickie James who took her spot and will be facing The Empress Of Tomorrow at Toronto.
#6 Bayley and Xavier Woods dress up for Halloween
Bayley and Xavier Woods got a good makeover for Halloween as one-third of the Tag-Team Champions got painted as The Boogeyman while The Hugger and former NXT Women’s Champion Bayley, got painted as the legendary WWE Hall Of Famer The Ultimate Warrior.
The Hugger and Austin Creed would no doubt have been thrilled to represent the great names
#5 Paige and Alberto Del Rio at his new job
Alberto Del Rio landed a new gig, as the president of the MMA organisation Combate Americas.
It is one of the top Latin American MMA promotions and Del Rio, being the brand ambassador as well, expects the organisation to be the #2 organisation worldwide in a matter of two years. As for Paige, she will be sticking by his side for a while now as she is on the road to recovery after getting a neck surgery done.
#4 Sasha Banks preparing for Hell In A Cell
The Boss Sasha Banks will be making history with Charlotte in less than two weeks, when she defends her Raw Women’s Championship inside a Hell In A Cell match.
Naturally, she has to get in tip-top shape to face the most unforgiving structure in WWE, and the champion is upping her game and increasing her “sweat sessions” in order to prepare for the biggest challenge of her life.
#3 Becky Lynch training for return in the Performance Center
The SmackdDown Women’s Champion was struck with an undisclosed injury around the time of No Mercy and was pulled from the card for her first title defence.
However, she is expected back early next month where she will be defending her championship on October 8th against Alexa Bliss at Glasgow.
As of now, she is training in the Performance Center to get back as fast as possible. The Performance Center is where she learned most of the things she did to become who she is today.
#2 Dana Brooke pays respects to the Dream
While everyone in WWE respects Dusty, those who went through the NXT developmental system have an even greater attachment to The American Dream, as he worked there during their promo classes helping mentor all the young up-and-comers who he called his “children”.
He passed away not too long ago last year, and Dana Brooke paid her respects to the late, great legend who helped her get to where she is today.
1)Triple H welcomes a new NXT prospect
It was rumoured for a while that "Mr. ROH” Roderick Strong would be coming to NXT.
He made his debut in the past set of NXT Tapings where he teamed up with Austin Aries in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Triple H was the first to welcome Roddy Strong, who will undoubtedly be a huge prospect for NXT, and can make his way to being one of its top stars. Will he become “Mr. NXT”?
