Blooper Reel: WWE's Top 10 memorable botches

A botch in WWE jargon means to mess up a scripted line or a scripted move or essentially not executing the a line or move whether scripted or not in its proper way. WWE programming is heavily dependent on a superstar’s mic work. These days they’ve been focusing heavily on one’s wrestling abilities too otherwise how does one explain pay per view quality matches on Raw and Smackdown? Though botches are common to both promos and matches, I try to list down all the hilarious botches made on the mic.

10. Psycho Sid

“We’re Live, Pal!” J.R. explains to Sid, who apparently forgot that he’s on a live show. Randy Orton’s ‘What’s my line’ can be more modern and harmless rendition of this botch. Sid obviously looks embarrassed and J.R. sounds quite sarcastic or is he really trying to save the day with “Psycho Sid, man of a few words”.

9. John Laurinaitis

He introduces the ‘People Era’ in the WWE and this era might have been a compilation for a botch festival. John Laurinaitis is the Botch king of the modern era. Here is a hilarious compilation of all his botches

8. Curtis Axel ..erm Michael Mcgillicutty

A promo can make or break a superstar. This is the precise reason what broke Michael Mcgillicutty. This was an exit speech he was to make after knowing that he’s been eliminated from NXT. This could have been his very moment to shine but a blessing in disguise if he ever had gotten awesome then it would have been such a task to pronounce that mouthful of a name.

7. Lex Luger

Um.. pronunciation mistake- Check. Forgetting the name of the show you’re wrestling on- Check. Looking the complete opposite of intimidating- Check. And you also have an interviewer who could not be in character and spilled out laughing and there, people, those are all the steps needed for a perfect botch.

6. Booker T

A normal promo that became a bit extraordinary with that blooper of an ending statement. And also add to that Booker T’s reaction as he is clearly embarrassed.

5. Hulk Hogan

Here is the man himself who was mentioned in the earlier blooper but he makes that blooper look like it was nothing. It started out well with some really seemingly non-fictional heat between the two. But he makes a barrage of botches after the 1:30 minute mark. In wrestling, you never leave your audience and complete your job. But Hogan, we would have been quite alright if you had stopped, brother!

4. Jerry Lawler

Okay, this past Monday he mentioned Randy Orton as WWE Champion when he was clearly not. But he does not seem to know that the crowd really likes Ziggler. He confuses the chanys of ‘Let’s go Ziggler’ with ‘ Let’s go Sheamus’ and on the night after WM 29 he confuses them with “Let’s go Colter”

3. Lilian Garcia

Being an in ring announcer has its own perks. One of the most adored divas and a long time employee of the company, here she is doing blooper after blooper

2. Howard Finkel

Who wasn’t happy to see the Fink return to Madison Square Garden for Survivor Series 2011? He played the part of being CM Punk’s personal ring announcer. This was a direct did at Alberto Del Rio. But Fink’s return wasn’t the only memorable think about this night. His cute blooper made the cut as well.

1. Mene Gene

Another announcer. Another legend. Another blooper. It’s funny how the entire segment was cut short because of a logo board falling off. Mene Gene might have feared for his life to make such a professional error in judgement.
