Bobby Roode recently made his NXT debut, more than three months after signing for WWE, after being teased during the developmental show’s tapings in the weeks gone by.
The franchise plans to use Bobby Roode’s character as a heel and have him lock horns with new NXT recruit Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas. The duo are expected to face off against each other at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, reports allwrestlingnews.com
The 39-year-old boasts of a wealth of wrestling experience, having had a successful stint on TNA – where he won loads of trophies – shortly after his departure from WWE in 2004. He had mainly been used in dark matches only.
Some of the laurels Roode won in TNA include two TNA World Heavyweight Championships, six TNA World Tag Team Championships, one TNA Tournament of Champions, as well as other distinguished pieces of silverware.
If utilised in the correct way, Roode could be a major asset to NXT, which needs all the quality it can get due to numerous stars tipped to receive main roster call-ups.
