What's the story?
Bobby Roode recently appeared on The Baby Huey and Bimbo Jimbo Show to talk about his move from NXT to Smackdown, his potential opponents, and Wrestlemania aspirations.
In case you didn't know...
Bobby Roode joined NXT in 2016 after more than a decade with TNA. He won the NXT Championship after defeating Shinsuke Nakamura at NXT Takeover: San Antonio becoming the oldest NXT Champion in WWE history in the process. He lost the title to Drew McIntyre at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III, which was his first singles loss in NXT.

On August 22, 2017, Roode made his Smackdown Live debut where he defeated Aiden English. After his debut, he proclaimed, "SmackDown Live went from being great to being absolutely glorious."
The heart of the matter
On The Baby Huey and Bimbo Jimbo show, Roode talked of potential opponents for him on Smackdown Live.
The first guy that kind of comes to mind here on the Smackdown roster would be A.J. (Styles). A.J. is one of those guys that I had the pleasure of coming up together in the business with. He’s been in the business as long as I have, and we’ve traveled many roads together.
Roode discussed potential RAW opponents too and asserted that it is an exciting time for him in the uncharted waters of WWE.
Anybody on Raw? I mean again there are so many guys over there. John Cena would be awesome. Braun Strowman…I mean the names go on and on and on guys that I haven’t been in the ring with. This is a brand new platform for me. A lot of uncharted waters, and a lot of places I want to go, and a lot of guys I want to face. Very exciting times for me.
On his Wrestlemania goals, Roode was optimistic about his opportunities for the big stage and vowed to work extremely hard for it.
WrestleMania is still many months away, but I am hoping to get an opportunity here to prove myself and have some great matches, and to fit in with Smackdown, and be a big part of it. If I continue to work hard and do the things that I did down in NXT here I’m pretty sure I’ll get that opportunity at WrestleMania.
What's next?
After his debut win against Aiden English, Bobby Roode has only wrestled a dark match against Mike Kanellis. On the same live show, a video package was aired, hyping up the 'Glorious Era' in NXT. Roode seems to be headed for a major program in the near future.
Author's take
Bobby Roode certainly has the 'glorious' factor and it is high time that WWE puts him in a meaningful program, perhaps a singles championship feud against AJ Styles. An AJ Styles vs Bobby Roode feud for the United States Championships sounds incredible and will be a treat for the fans.
