Carmella retained her Championship thanks to a distraction from James Ellsworth
Carmella defended her SmackDown Women's Championship against Asuka at Extreme Rules, with James Ellsworth inside a shark cage above the ring, as Ellsworth played a huge role in both the match and distracting Asuka enough to help Carmella retain her title.

Despite Ellsworth's interference, it was Carmella's huge botch that many of the WWE Universe will remember. The Women's Champion moved before Asuka was able to hit her signature butt bump and the commentary team remarked: "I don't think she got all of it." No, she didn't get any of it.
