What’s the story?
The WWE has revealed on its official website that Braun Strowman will be out of action for longer than initially expected.
In case you didn’t know...
The Monster Among Men was recently written off WWE’s TV programming after being attacked by Roman Reigns on Monday Night Raw in London. Strowman (Adam Scherr) reportedly underwent surgery after returning to the States, which was when doctors discovered additional complications in his elbow.
The heart of the matter
The 33-year old apparently went under the knife in Birmingham, Alabama and doctors found his injury to be more severe than expected. During the procedure, they discovered that his elbow was shattered. Here’s what the WWE has posted on its official website regarding the same:
“Immediately after the assault on Strowman’s injured shoulder and elbow by the former WWE Champion, The Monster Among Men left Raw in an ambulance and was able to get back to the United States for an evaluation this past Wednesday.
Following the medical consultation, Strowman underwent surgery on Thursday in Birmingham, Ala. with Dr Jeffrey Dugas. During the procedure, it was revealed, among his other injuries, that Strowman’s elbow had been shattered, and he is expected to miss up to six months of action as a result”

What’s next?
Strowman was scheduled to face Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules and then challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at the Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view later this year.
However, given the seriousness of his injury, the WWE may have to completely overhaul its plans for the upcoming Raw brand exclusive PPV as well as some of its weekly storylines.
Author’s take
Braun Strowman seems to be a victim of an unfortunate scenario of late-diagnosis, so to speak. A shattered elbow is no joke and takes months to fully heal and return to a healthy, functional condition.
We, here at Sportskeeda, wish Braun Strowman a safe and speedy recovery.
