Injuries have been bugging the WWE for quite sometime now. During the fall of last year, major names like Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and John Cena were sidelined due to injury, leading WWE to work around the handicap for two of its biggest PPVs. The curse then seemed to take on a new spree around WrestleMania with Luke Harper, Neville, Bray Wyatt and Enzo Amore suffering injuries in succession.
With the brand split coming up, most of the injured Superstars are beginning to make their return to television programming. But, it looks like the injury bug is not done with the WWE. Wrestlinginc reports that yet another WWE Superstar was injured yesterday at a Live Event.
Simon Gotch, one half of The Vaudevillains, appears to have suffered an injury at the Live Event in Jacksonville, FL. During the main event of the night, The New Day defended their title against Lucha Dragons and the Vaudevillains in a Triple Threat match. Towards the end of the match, Simon Gotch took a stiff kick to the face. It was reported that the referee looked concerned as Gotch tried to roll out of the ring, but unfortunately stumbled and fell outside. Gotch didn’t get back up for the rest of the match.
Once the match was over, the referee threw the “X” sign and Aiden English helped the referee to get Gotch backstage. As of this writing, there is no word out regarding the nature of the injury. But,according to the latest reports, Gotch was apparently fine backstage after the match and was saying that he was OK.
