Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer was a guest on Jim Ross’ podcast, in an episode taped for later this week. The two discussed about Brock Lesnar’s contract and his future status with WWE. Lesnar’s contract is slated to expire after WrestleMania 31 next year and according to JR, there have been no serious discussions between Lesnar and WWE regarding a new contract signing.
Starting in 2012, Lesnar signed a 3-year deal with the company with limited dates. He made his in-ring return against John Cena t the Extreme Rules PPV. More than six months are still left before the expiry of his contract, so obviously there’s still much time left for Lesnar and WWE to figure things out.
Lesnar’s complete recovery from illness that took him out of mixed martial arts also sparked his return to pro wrestling. UFC President Dana White mentioned various times about his cordial relationship with Lesnar and that they are always ready to welcome former Heavyweight Champion, even at the age of 37 years. With that possibility, Brock would make more money than he’s currently making if he chooses to extend his WWE run.
