Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar is one of the most popular combat sports athletes in the world known for professional wrestling, mixed martial arts, and amateur wrestling. Born on July 12, 1977, in Webster, South Dakota, Lesnar's athletic journey began with wrestling at the University of Minnesota, where he clinched the NCAA Division I championship in 2000. He then made his debut in WWE in 2002 and became the youngest WWE Champion at just 25 years old.

Lesnar also had a brief stint in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings in the mid-2000s and returned to wrestling and later into mixed martial arts. He also won the UFC World Heavyweight Championship there. Throughout his career, Lesnar has proved himself to be one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. While he has mostly been a dominating heel in his career, Lesnar has had equally successful stints as a babyface as well.

Is Brock Lesnar a Babyface or a Heel?

During his last appearance in WWE, Brock Lesnar was a tweener. A tweener is someone whose personality is not clearly defined in pro wrestling. According to the SmackDown Hotel, Lesnar had turned heel on the RAW after WrestleMania 39 after turning on Cody Rhodes. However, before he went on a hiatus, Lesnar also shook hands with Rhodes as a sign of respect at SummerSlam.

Debut as a Dominating Heel (2002)

Brock Lesnar made his WWE debut in 2002. Besides being a newer face in the circuit, he became a nightmare to the complete roster and portrayed a dominating heel character as per the SmackDown Hotel. During this period, Lesnar became the youngest WWE Champion in history and also became the King of the Ring.

Paul Heyman betrays and Lesnar turns face (2002 - 2003)

Brock Lesnar was undefeated in WWE until Survivor Series 2002. On that night, Lesnar lost his first WWE match, thanks to his advocate Paul Heyman betraying him that night. The Beast turned face for the first time. During his time as a face, Lesnar won the Royal Rumble match, headlined WrestleMania as a debutant, and also won the WWE Championship again.

An 18-year long Heel Run (2003 - 2021)

In August 2003, Brock Lesnar was supposed to go one-on-one with Mr. McMahon while Kurt Angle was the referee. However, Lesnar attacked Angle and turned heel once again at that period. In the next few months, he would go on to terrorize the roster and eventually leave WWE as a heel after a match against Goldberg at WrestleMania XX. In pro wrestling, he would then also join NJPW, where he wrestled as a heel.

Lesnar returned to WWE in 2012 and then had one of the most dominating runs of all time over the next few years. Until 2021, Lesnar headlined multiple WrestleMania events, won numerous world championships, and Money in the Bank briefcase, and broke The Undertaker’s streak at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Cowboy Brock Lesnar (2021 - 2023)

Brock Lesnar returned to WWE at SummerSlam 2021 and challenged Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. This marked his first face turn in eighteen years. Lesnar had a sensational run as a Cowboy Canadian superstar. According to the SmackDown Hotel. In October 2022, he began a brief run as a heel before turning back to babyface at Royal Rumble 2023 where he was betrayed by Paul Heyman. Lesnar won the WWE Championship and the Royal Rumble match during this period, while also headlining what was billed as the Greatest WrestleMania match of all time.

Turned on Cody Rhodes (2023)

On the RAW after WrestleMania 39, Brock Lesnar was supposed to team up with Cody Rhodes. However, Lesnar turned on The American Nightmare and turned heel again. Thereafter, the two superstars had a trilogy of matches where Cody Rhodes won twice and Lesnar once. After their decisive match at SummerSlam, the two superstars shook hands and Lesnar went on an indefinite hiatus.
