Brock Lesnar vs Gunther has been one of the biggest rumored rivalries of the past two years. Unfortunately, the feud may not happen as the Stamford-based company could have different plans for the World Champion.
A few days ago on SEC Nation, WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg announced that he will have his retirement match in 2025. He also indicated that Gunther could be his next victim. After their segment at Bad Blood, the chances of Gunther vs Goldberg seem to be increasingly likely.
This could also be an indication that Brock Lesnar is not returning to the company anytime soon. Brock Lesnar and Gunther had a brief face-off in last year's Royal Rumble which gave the fans some hope of them starting a feud.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The Beast still features on the free agent page of the official website of WWE. That means he hasn't been released from the company and could technically return at any time. However, with Goldberg hinting towards a rivalry with Gunther, at least for the first half of 2025, we may not see the return of Brock Lensar.
The beast hasn't featured on WWE TV since his appearance at SummerSlam 2023. WWE has taken him off television after he was linked to the infamous Vince McMahon scandal.
WWE Hall of Famer calls Brock Lesnar vs Gunther a dream match
The WWE Universe has always wanted a Brock Lesnar vs Gunther rivalry and The Undertaker is no different.
Speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast, The Deadman revealed The Beast Incarnate vs The Ring General would be a dream match for all pro wrestling fans.
“Brock's a different animal in what he does, in his approach. Brock doesn't do anything crazy but everything that he does means something. And it's scary, and it's brutal, and it's easy to understand that you don’t want to be on the receiving end of anything that Brock does. GUNTHER is so in touch with his character. He exudes such confidence. That match would be fun to watch and to see how he handles that. I think he'd handle it well and I would love to watch that myself.” (53:00 onwards)
It is no secret how big of a Gunther fan The Undertaker is. The Phenom has praised the Ring General more than anyone from this generation of superstars on various episodes of his podcast. Just like the Deadman, we all hope a dream feud between Brock Lesnar and Gunther becomes a reality.
