WWE SmackDown will have its season premiere on the USA Network in a few hours. Fans expect surprises, one of which could be the return of Brock Lesnar after 405 days.
Fans last saw Brock Lesnar on WWE programming back at SummerSlam 2023 after which he took a hiatus and was later implicated in the lawsuit against Vince McMahon. While the promotion's legal team has prevented his return for a while, this week's WWE SmackDown might be when he finally makes his much-awaited return.
The Beast could continue right where he left off by continuing to showcase respect for Cody Rhodes, who is scheduled to battle The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa in a Steel Cage match. While most fans expect Roman Reigns to return for the rescue, the company could pull off a bigger surprise with Brock Lesnar's return.
Considering his history with Rhodes and The Bloodline, it would be sensible for him to help the Undisputed WWE Champion. He also appeared on the blue brand's season premiere on FOX in 2019, so his appearance is already synonymous with such a special event. However, nothing is confirmed, and it is just speculation for now.
What else could fans expect on WWE SmackDown tonight?
Apart from the Undisputed WWE Championship match, several interesting bouts have been announced for the upcoming show.
Andrade and Carmelo Hayes will face each other once again and will seemingly deliver the match of the night, just like they've been doing for the past few weeks. It would be interesting to see if they befriend each other after the battle and potentially become a tag team.
Also, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller will face Kevin Owens and a mystery partner on tonight's WWE SmackDown. While it is unlikely at this point, if history repeats itself, John Cena might return as Owens' partner in a pleasant surprise for the fans. Other options could be Randy Orton, LA Knight, or possibly the returning AJ Styles.
Tonight's episode will be a thrilling ride for the viewers, to say the least.
