Butch started preparing in 2006 at 12 years old at Phoenix Wrestling in Coventry initially under the mentorship of Steve "Psycho" Edwards where he learned the basics. Dunne previously appeared as a grappler in 2007 at 13 years of age at Holbrooks Festival in Coventry where met and wrestled Mark Andrews. He later prepared for a short time frame under Max Angelus and started dealing with other neighborhood shows in local Birmingham. Until January 2010 he contended under a mask as "Tiger Kid" when he lost a mask vs hair match to Helix at Riot Act Wrestling. He then resigned from the person and came up with the name Pete Dunne and started consistently acting in a tag team close by his sibling Damian Dunne. In his initial days he worked in several circuits such as EDW Wrestling (Shrewsbury), and Kamikaze Genius Wrestling (Birmingham). During school holidays Butch Was consistently rehearsing with Mark Andrews and different companions to prepare himself for the Cardiff community center. In 2011 Butch started contending globally and all the more routinely going after LDN Wrestling (Britain), Celtic Wrestling, Welsh Wrestling, Dublin Title Wrestling (Ireland), PBW (Scotland), and Royal Imperial Wrestling (Wales).
