It was noted before that Cesaro could be facing WWE Intercontinental champion Dolph Ziggler at Hell In A Cell pay-per-view.

The Swiss Superman battled the Show Off at Night of Champions but failed to win the title. Cesaro also promised to become the new Intercontinental Champion. He later tweeted:
