In a recent interview with Planeta Wrestling and NEOX TV Spain, WWE superstar Cesaro threw some light on various topics concerning him as well as offered his opinion on the events unfolding at NXT, and also discussed his road to recovery while promoting WWE – reports dailywrestlingnews.com.
When asked about his thoughts on the ‘Cesaro Section’, the wrestler said: “I think it’s awesome, I’m very happy and very grateful because it is something that the fans started, and I feel I am part of it and we are in this together.”
On his top candidate to win the Royal Rumble, Cesaro didn’t disclose any names due to his view that many superstars would be vying for the crown, but did state that the victor would be a dark horse.
Cesaro also noted that the wrestlers labelled as ‘favourites’ were less likely to walk off with the prize. When asked about who would be a standout at WrestleMania 32, Cesaro remarked that the beauty of the event creates an aura of surprises around it.
The 35-year-old remained coy when asked about his return from injury and stated that it was up to his doctor to give him a clean bill of health, while also stating that he hoped to be back soon.
Asked to offer his thoughts on the Tag Team division, Cesaro said, ‘I see a quite strong division, the best team now is probably The New Day. I think there is much fun to see, but obviously, there are a lot of great teams out there… The Usos, The Ascension.”
The wrestler also said that a comeback with Tyson Kidd would be great, while calling the latter a brother.
On the question of which NXT star deserves a promotion to the main roster, Cesaro didn’t name names and claimed that an elevation depended on a host of factors like timing, toughness, and their mindset.
When asked about who his dream match would be against, the Swiss confessed that a showdown with whoever was crowned WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania would be perfect.
When it came to the question of whether he would like to be managed under Paul Heyman again, Cesaro stated that Heyman is set on managing Brock Lesnar and has no intention of playing second fiddle to anyone.
All in all, one hopes that Antonio Cesaro and his famous typical European antics return as soon as possible.
