This is where things could get very complex. Bray Wyatt, as some of us know, is billed as a third generation superstar, his father being the legendary IRS. It has never been fully referenced, because the WWE clearly want to keep the mystique around the Wyatt character, and talking about his family lineage would ruin it somewhat. However, if the WWE wanted to do something completely different with Wyatt, perhaps they can involve him in the Kurt Angle affair.

Mike Rotunda, the man we all know as Bray Wyatt’s father, still has links with the WWE, last making a TV appearance for them in 2014. He is a fairly recognisable figure for anyone old enough to remember the mid-1990s product and his underrated tag team with Ted DiBiase during that time. The story here could be that Bray is not actually IRS's son, and his mother had a secret affair with a young Kurt Angle. This would give Rotunda an excuse to return to the company and begin a feud with the RAW GM.

It wouldn't be too difficult to utilise Bray’s less than normal behaviour, linking it to some deep psychological issues stemming from an uncertain childhood. Perhaps finding out that he was illegitimate all those years ago sent Bray over the edge and he symbolically replaced the ideal image of his mother with that of Sister Abigail.

There was also the incident when Bray first came back into the RAW fold after the superstar shake up earlier in the year. Wyatt came down to the ring to interrupt Angle’s promo and appeared to be very respectful of his GM, something we don’t normally see from the Eater of Worlds. Could Bray know something we, as yet, do not?

In terms of what this could lead to, one direction would be to involve Bo Dallas, the real life brother of Bray. Maybe Rotunda is Dallas’s father but not Bray’s, explaining the differences between them in their approach to life. Bray could become deeply jealous of Dallas who always had a stable father figure around him, launching a feud between the two.

This would certainly humanise Wyatt, in a way he desperately needs right now. It took an old family secret for The Undertaker to take the next step towards the main event, so why wouldn’t this work for Bray as well?
