Out of all the possible illegitimate child theories, Chad Gable strikes us as the one most likely to be true. There are a number of similarities between Angle and Gable, including their advanced wrestling abilities, their history in the Olympic Games and their love for the sport overall. Fans even started singing Gable's name to the tune of Angle's theme song down on NXT because of how much one reminded them of the other.
The WWE did put out a short video earlier today regarding the Kurt Angle affair, which appeared to put a stop to this very possibility. Cathy Kelley, while discussing other potential answers to this mystery story, is quoted as saying ‘we’re fairly confident it’s not Chad Gable’. This could, of course, all be a tactic by the WWE to throw us off the scent. Considering Gable would be such an obvious choice as Kurt’s love child, maybe the company want to get a few more hours of speculation out of us before the big reveal tonight.

Going in this direction would certainly fit in with the fact that Gable has received somewhat of a singles push in recent weeks on Smackdown. While his tag-team, American Alpha, has been largely ignored, Gable has had matches with Kevin Owens and AJ Styles over the past couple of episodes. Maybe this is WWE’s way of lining up something extra special for him.
Of course, they would have to find a way of getting Gable onto RAW, but this too could be utilised to further the story overall. Why not include a power struggle between Shane McMahon and Kurt Angle where they compete to try and keep the promising young athlete on their show. Gable would be somebody to have around if you were looking to build for the future, so this could make sense.
Sometimes, when something appears to be so obvious to so many people, it's probably a sign that you should follow through on it. Gable being announced as Angle’s child wouldn’t be too out of the ordinary and would probably benefit all parties in the long run. If they are going with an illegitimate child angle, this feels like the safest bet. Right?
