Charlotte Flair has been absent from WWE programming since the December 8, 2023, episode of SmackDown, where she faced Asuka in a singles match. During the bout, The Queen suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus. The injury has kept her out of action since then.

However, the 38-year-old star is recovering well from her injury and all eyes are on her eventual in-ring return. It was expected that she might return to the company by SummerSlam 2024, but that did not happen. Now, there are speculations that Charlotte might return to the Stamford-based promotion with a WWE legend. That would be none other than her father, Ric Flair.

The Nature Boy can make a grand return to the company and become Charlotte's manager on SmackDown. The 75-year-old veteran was last seen on WWE programming in 2021. On the January 4, 2021, episode of RAW, Ric entered into a storyline with former WWE Superstar Lacey Evans after the latter flirted with the former. In the following weeks, The Nature Boy even managed Evans, usually distracting her daughter Charlotte while she was engaged in a feud with Lacey.

Moreover, Evans' real-life pregnancy was then incorporated into a romantic storyline with Ric, showcasing that the latter had impregnated the former. However, Lacey's match against Asuka for the RAW Women's Championship at Elimination Chamber 2021 had to be canceled due to her pregnancy, and the storyline with The Nature Boy was also scrapped.

Ric then requested his release from WWE and was granted the same by the company in August 2021. He has not appeared in the Stamford-based promotion since then.

Since both Charlotte and her father, Ric Flair, have not appeared in WWE for a while, it appears that now is the perfect time for their return.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis recently unveiled the Women's United States Championship. The Queen can make a blockbuster return along with The Nature Boy, compete for the brand-new title, and win it in a dominant fashion.

Moreover, Charlotte can also go after Nia Jax's WWE Women's Championship. The Irresistible Force will put her title on the line against Naomi on the upcoming episode of SmackDown. If Nia retains her title, Flair can then challenge her for the gold, claiming that Jax only managed to win the 2024 Queen of the Ring tournament because she was out due to an injury.

Charlotte Flair opens up about her unfortunate injury

During her appearance on the Forever Young Podcast a few weeks back, Charlotte Flair opened up on her injury and how much of a devastating experience it was for her. She also stated that it came unfortunately at a time when her husband, Andrade, was gearing up for his WWE in-ring return.

"When it first happened, I thought my life was over. [laughs] I was like, 'Oh my gosh! a perfect storm.' My husband [Andrade] had just come back to the company or was on his way back. I knew he was gonna be debuting soon, and I just, from the moment I was taken out, I just kept telling myself that I'm gonna come back the best version of The Queen, and when I do come back, and you never like to be sidelined due to an injury," Charlotte Flair said.
