Charlotte Flair has been away from WWE programming since December last year. While there is still no word on The Queen's in-ring return, she could play a major role in an upcoming title match on SmackDown.

Charlotte suffered an injury during her match against Asuka on SmackDown in December last year. It was later revealed that she tore her ACL, MCL, and meniscus during the match and would be out of action for nearly nine months. As per a recent report, the 14-time World Champion is not yet cleared for a comeback.

However, The Queen could make her presence felt on the upcoming edition of SmackDown as her real-life husband, Andrade, will be in action on the show. The Mexican star will challenge LA Knight for the United States Championship after winning his five-match series against Carmelo Hayes.

This could be a perfect opportunity for WWE to pair Charlotte Flair and Andrade together on-screen as the former could help her husband defeat LA Knight. The Queen could also serve as a manager for the 34-year-old star while she fully recovers from her injury.

It remains to be seen whether the 38-year-old star will return to the blue brand soon.

WWE Women's Champion Nia Jax commented on a potential match against Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair is one of the most decorated female superstars of all time. The Queen is a 14-time World Champion, in addition to being a two-time NXT Women's Champion.

While the second-generation superstar has won a title every year with the Stamford-based company, Nia Jax is fairly confident of her chances should The Queen come for her WWE Women's Championship:

"With Charlotte [Flair], you know, she's a 14-time Women's Champion. She's rehabbing faster after her ACL surgery. But, I've been working hard for the last year while she's been sitting back and enjoying a little vacation. So, if she thinks she's coming back to take this title, I wish her all the luck. But it's definitely not happening."

Charlotte Flair has kept fans updated with her recovery throughout her time on the sidelines. However, it seems like the WWE Universe will have to wait a bit longer to see the 38-year-old star return to in-ring action.
