Chelsea Anne Cardona (Green) is a Canadian professional wrestler, currently signed with WWE, and is one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion. She is also known for her time in TNA / Impact Wrestling, where she was the Impact Knockouts and Impact Knockouts World Tag Team Champion. Green started her professional wrestling career in 2014 at the Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling (ECCW) under the ring name Jaida. She then appeared on various independent circuits including Japan’s World Wonder Ring Stardom (WWRS), Queens of Combat (QOC), and others.

Chelsea Green's Early Career and WWE

In 2016, Green made her TNA / Impact Wrestling debut by changing the ring name to “Chelsea”. However, after signing the contract, she changed her name to Laurel Van Ness and established herself as a heel by attacking Allie. Van Ness had an on-screen relationship with Braxton Sutter and was about to marry, but got ruined as Sutter rejected Van Ness as he was in love with Allie.

Van Ness then started appearing in a severely disheveled appearance with messy hair, a damaged wedding dress, barefoot, and a wine bottle. She cleaned her up and asked Grado to marry her but the wedding again got ruined as he refused to marry a Canadian. She then adopted a Chaotic Gimmick and started campaigning for a husband.

Van Ness then became the Impact Knockout’s Champion, but soon decided to leave Impact Wrestling as her contract was coming to an end. The company refused to release her until she lost her title. She then lost her title to Allie and ended her first run on the Impact Wrestling in January 2018.

Chelsea Green then appeared in Lucha Underground for a brief period under the name “Reklusa”. She participated in the WWE tryouts and signed a contract with WWE. Green already appeared in WWE on two occasions before in 2014 and 2015. However, her official debut was in 2018 at the NXT brand, where she adopted a “psychotic” gimmick. She then had her first main roster match against Charlotte Flair and lost. Green suffered wrist injuries twice, which cost her the contract as she got released in 2021 along with other inactive wrestlers.

She then moved back to Impact Wrestling and won the Impact Knockouts World Tag Team Championship with Deonna Purrazzo and held the championship for 56 days. After a year with the company, she left and re-signed with WWE in 2023. She is currently a member of the Raw brand and is the reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion with Piper Niven after her original tag team partner Sonya Deville vacated the championship due to injury.
