Chelsea Green to ditch Piper Niven if former WWE Superstar returns after 5-year absence? Exploring potential new alliance

WWE Superstars Chelsea Green and Piper Niven share an ironclad bond. The heel superstars made their main roster debut in April 2024 and have competed in several singles and doubles title matches. Despite the duo working so well, there’s a chance that The Hot Mess could ditch Niven if Matt Cardona returns to WWE.

The former Zack Ryder left the Stamford-based promotion in 2020 after a 15-year stint. Since then, Cardona has become one of the biggest indie stars and has won several world championships. He also married Chelsea Green in 2021.

The Hot Mess has expressed the desire to work with Cardona in WWE before, and if her husband does make a comeback, Green will likely boot Niven from her camp. Notably, the Scotswoman had once abandoned the inaugural Women’s United States Champion after her dumpster match loss to Michin to enjoy with other stars on the roster.

Although Chelsea Green and Piper Niven have been united since and even fought together for the women’s tag titles, The Hot Mess could ditch her friend for her husband. Although this would be a significant creative direction WWE could take, all of this is speculation.

Which superstars can challenge Chelsea Green for the US Championship?

While Chelsea Green has finally become the inaugural Women’s Champ after weeks of chasing the gold, she will now have to work harder to keep the belt around her waist. She already has a list of challengers waiting for her to defend the title against them. One of them is former WWE Women’s Champion Bianca Belair.

The EST of WWE had to abandon the qualifier match Green won to advance in the tournament for the title when the big screen showed that Jade Cargill was ambushed in the parking lot. Thus, she could claim that the title would’ve been hers had she continued to compete.

The NXT wrestler was denied her victory in the qualifiers when Michin used Legend’s finisher to pin Piper Niven to win the match. The Meta -Four member later noted in a backstage interview that she didn’t lose the match that night. The Boujee Bully and her tag team partner, Jakara Jackson, also said they would always be where the gold would be.
