The speculation regarding the match change has many fans questioning whether this is work or a sign that Rusev's WWE career won't last much longer.
The heart of the matter
Rusev's initial reaction to the match with The Undertaker caused many to believe he had an issue with facing the Deadman.
However, his reaction to the news of being replaced by Jericho came off as indifference to facing Taker at the big show.
Since news broke of Rusev being replaced, his Twitter profile has undergone some interesting changes including his name "RusevFromRusevDay" being replaced by a period.
His profile picture was also an image of himself in a WWE ring but was replaced by a picture for the movie "Other Versions of You" that his wife, Lana is staring in.
One of the biggest issues that may have lead to Rusev being replaced in the match were his initial tweet and his comments in his TMZ interview where he said The Undertaker was "a lil past his prime."
The Undertaker's wife, Michelle McCool, took exception to this and took to Twitter and shared her thoughts on Rusev's comments.
Jericho responded to the news of the match and also called out The Deadman for his age and proclaimed his victory against him.
What's Next?
The Greatest Royal Rumble will take place on Friday, April 27 and will emanate from the King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Author's Take
The news about the replacement is good or bad depending on how you view a match with The Undertaker at this stage in the game.
At the very least, it will be fun to see Jericho and Taker fight each other for the first time in eight years.
