#1 Original plans for the RAW Women's Championship at Clash of Champions

Asuka will be defending the RAW Women's Championship at Clash of Champions against Zelina Vega. This match has come as quite a surprise for fans as Vega has not been an active in-ring Superstar for a very long time in WWE.

Vega, who was tied in a managerial role in WWE will be getting her first shot at the RAW Women's Championship at Clash of Champions. Dave Meltzer of WON had reported that the original plan was for Asuka to face Shayna Baszler at the Clash of Champions PPV.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Asuka defending the title against Shayna Baszler was originally slated for this show.

The Women's division on RAW has been languishing of late and there are rumors that Vince McMahon is looking to push Peyton Royce as the next big star on RAW.
