Drew McIntyre and CM Punk have been embroiled in an intense rivalry since the start of 2024. The Scottish Warrior took credit for injuring The Best in the World at Royal Rumble, which led to Punk costing him the World Heavyweight Championship twice.

The situation between McIntyre and Punk is worsening with each passing week, which could lead to the return of AJ Lee, the wife of the former AEW star. She could return to WWE for various reasons.

Drew McIntyre stole CM Punk's bracelet having AJ Lee's name on it

After CM Punk cost Drew McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle in the latter's home country. The Scottish Warrior then quit WWE on RAW last week only to return on SmackDown four days later. He brutalized an injured Punk in Chicago and left him bleeding on the stage.

Before leaving the Allstate Arena, Drew McIntyre stole the bracelet from the veteran which had the names of AJ Lee and Larry (Punk's dog) on it. This could be a hint that the former three-time Divas Champion could get involved in their feud at some point as this move made things very personal between McIntyre and Punk.

WWE could book a home invasion angle

WWE has been more open to producing edgy content in the Triple H era, so the company could have Drew McIntyre invade CM Punk's home in their rivalry. This would obviously affect AJ Lee as well, so it could trigger her to return to the Stamford-based promotion.

The Bad Blood Premium Live Event is rumored to return later this year, so this would be a solid angle to set up a Hell in a Cell match between Punk and McIntyre there.

AJ Lee parted ways with Women of Wrestling

AJ Lee last competed on RAW after WrestleMania 31 in 2015, where she teamed up with Paige and Naomi to take on The Bella Twins and Natalya in a Six-Woman Tag Team match. After that, the former Divas Champion left the pro wrestling business for almost six years before joining Women of Wrestling (WOW) as an Executive Producer in 2021, which he later departed in August 2023.

As she is currently a free agent, there is always a possibility of fans getting to see her in WWE again. With the return of CM Punk last November, the chances of her return are higher than ever.
