Now imagine the scenario if Punk made his return.
All the headlines and cheers would’ve gone to Punk since it was his hometown leaving Bryan look like an idiot. He would’ve lost all his relevance and buildup that he had thanks to Punk’s return. All those months of buildup up Bryan’s momentum for a big WrestleMania moment would’ve just been thrown out of the window just like that.
Punk being booked for WrestleMania will clearly take the limelight off Bryan as Punk will clearly head into the feud with Triple H simply knocking Bryan out.
It was not a risk worth taking from the side of WWE even if Punk had agreed to make an appearance as Bryan is “the” thing in the company which has names like Undertaker, John Cena, Batista and many more.
Chicago over, now if the WWE is clearly going to bring Punk back into action, they should give special care so that it wouldn’t effect Bryan’s momentum. Keeping Punk and Bryan off eachother is a mush happen thing to preserve Bryan’s big WrestleMania moment.
However, if I was given a personal choice of dragging Punk into the ring, the best time to do that would be after WrestleMania.
It’s because, If Punk left with the disagreement on the pushes given to part time wrestlers, and then he doesn’t deserve to get back in the ring and affect Daniel Bryan who has been busting his rear the whole year.
Bryan is well placed to be the next face of the company after WrestleMania and Punk’s involvement will only stop this from happening, which apparently is a similar reason that made Punk quit the WWE.
The younger breed like Shield and Wyatt Family will also affect by this return as Punk is going to fill the headlines. If Punk left the company because of any argument or something he clearly doesn’t deserve to come back which is the best thing for business also.
As for the WWE Universe is concerned, quoting from Dark Knight, CM Punk might be the hero that they wants but Daniel Bryan is the hero that they need.
