Cody Rhodes has a target on his back holding the Undisputed WWE Championship and his next title defense will likely take place at Survivor Series. The American Nightmare might collide with a familiar face at the premium live event in November after a chaotic Bad Blood this past weekend.
Kevin Owens turned on Rhodes in the parking lot at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The Prizefighter beat him down in a video that WWE's social media channels did not pick up. KO looks set to reignite a title pursuit, and Survivor Series could be the destination for the former friends to collide.
Cody Rhodes will face Gunther or Sami Zayn at Crown Jewel (November 2) in a Champion vs. Champion match. The winner will become the inaugural WWE Crown Jewel Champion. This rules out Rhodes and KO facing one another at the PLE in Saudi Arabia.

Kevin Owens took his frustrations out on Rhodes after Bad Blood after losing patience with the champion. His recent affiliation with long-time rival Roman Reigns has irritated the former Universal Champion.
There's more to the story, though, as KO's contract is set to expire in early 2025. This could be used in the story between him and Cody, with the two-time Royal Rumble winner facing him at Survivor Series in a title match.
Kevin Owens could threaten to go on leave unless he gets a match against The American Nightmare. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis might be wary of handing him another opportunity after losing at Bash in Berlin.
However, Cody Rhodes could demand that he face Owens at Survivor Series to get revenge for the parking lot beatdown. He similarly used his power to ensure KO challenged him at Bash in Berlin in August.
WWE might punish Kevin Owens after his attack on Cody Rhodes
Fans were shocked by Kevin Owens' apparent heel turn, which they recorded and shared on social media. Given that the heel turn didn't happen on TV or any of WWE's media outlets, it's one of the most unique angles the company has produced.
Chief Content Officer Triple H responded to the situation with a post on X/Twitter:
"We are aware of the incident outside of the arena last night between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. The matter will be dealt with internally."
This suggests that KO might be punished for his actions, which saw him drive off as producer Bobby Roode tried to calm him. SmackDown GM Aldis has proven to be a stickler for strict discipline, which doesn't bode well for The Prizefighter.
