Cody Rhodes and Gunther are set to square off for the Crown Jewel Championship at WWE's upcoming premium live event. However, both stars have additional targets on their backs, which could potentially affect the upcoming bout.
The American Nightmare has also been embroiled in a feud with Kevin Owens who turned on the former after Bad Blood and attacked him in the parking lot. On the other hand, Gunther got involved in an altercation with Goldberg at the same PLE where he insulted the Hall of Famer and his son, who were in the audience in the front row.
While Kevin Owens currently has his hands full with Randy Orton, the Prizefighter has shown in the past that he can strike whenever the opportunity presents itself. KO could attack Cody Rhodes before his match at Crown Jewel to further build up the tension between the two. This could also present WWE with an opportunity to pit the former three-time world champion Goldberg against Gunther as the former Universal Champion could replace Rhodes to take on The Ring General at the premium live event in Saudi Arabia.

Goldberg has been rumored to make an appearance at Crown Jewel and an impromptu match against the World Heavyweight Champion could be an excellent opportunity to bring him back into the fold. KO taking out Rhodes will also further establish him as a top heel.
However, it must be noted that this angle is speculative and nothing of the sort has been confirmed so far.
WWE analyst believes Cody Rhodes could lose title to Randy Orton
While Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton are currently on the same side, many believe that The Viper turning on The American Nightmare is inevitable.
WWE analyst Sam Roberts and wrestling journalist Chris Van Vliet also discussed the possibility of Orton turning heel to dethrone the former AEW EVP. Roberts noted that it could happen before WrestleMania 41 to set up a rematch at the Showcase of the Immortals.
"What if Randy at some point between now and then beats Cody?" Van Vliet wondered. "It's possible because I think that's coming after Kevin," Roberts replied. "I think so too. Which then sets up perhaps a rematch or a bigger story with heel Randy versus very big babyface Cody at WrestleMania 41," Van Vliet added.
Randy Orton will also be in action at Crown Jewel where he will face Kevin Owens in a grudge match. The Viper sided with Cody Rhodes after The Prizefighter betrayed the Undisputed WWE Champion. However, many believe that the 14-time world champion will also eventually turn on his former stablemate in the near future.
