Roman Reigns finally added a fifth member to The OG Bloodline's team ahead of Survivor Series WarGames, and it was all thanks to Paul Heyman. On the latest episode of SmackDown, The Wiseman returned to WWE TV and announced the match would be 5 vs 5, and introduced CM Punk.
Prior to the segment, The OTC and the other OG Bloodline members were backstage, trying to think of someone who would be willing to help them. During the conversation, Cody Rhodes name was suggested but Reigns turned down the idea by revealing that Rhodes and he were old news, and he has "moved on".
When The American Nightmare hears about this, he won't be happy.
A former WWE writer just went after JBL for his comments HERE
Roman Reigns blatantly disrespected the Undisputed WWE Champion
Even if The OTC isn't too fond of Cody Rhodes, at the moment, The American Nightmare is the Undisputed WWE Champion. It's not ideal to have a man with Reigns' influence disrespecting Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes is the one who helped him take on Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, and claiming that the partnership was old news indicates that The American Nightmare is irrelevant to Roman Reigns. The champion might not take that kindly, and could possibly reignite his feud with the former Undisputed WWE Champion.
Cody Rhodes put his friendship with Kevin Owens on the line for The OTC
Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes forming a tag team was a surprise for everyone. No one quite knew how to react, especially the people who helped The American Nightmare against the former champion earlier this year.
The Undisputed WWE Champion decided to help The OTC despite knowing that Kevin Owens and Randy Orton weren't onboard with the idea. In fact, The Prizefighter turned heel by attacking Rhodes at Bad Blood, and is now in a full-fledged rivalry with him.
Hence, Reigns dismissing the idea of Cody Rhodes as the fifth member after what he sacrificed for the former Tribal Chief can be perceived as disrespectful.
The American Nightmare is the only one who stood up for Roman Reigns when he returned
Roman Reigns returned to WWE TV at SummerSlam 2024 and attacked The Bloodline, Cody Rhodes was able to defeat Solo Sikoa because of the interference.
Following that, Reigns was alone against The Bloodline with no Usos, Sami Zayn or even Paul Heyman by his side.
It was The American Nightmare who stood up for him, and signed the tag team contract first. He gave Reigns the benefit of doubt when all the odds were against him.
