Cody Rhodes had to wait a year to defeat Roman Reigns and win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. However, despite defeating The Tribal Chief, Rhodes hasn't managed to escape The Bloodline. Even today, the faction under Solo Sikoa is chasing The American Nightmare.

While this development is a major threat to Rhodes and his reign, the upcoming WWE SummerSlam in Cleveland could witness Rhodes losing his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The superstar who could beat Rhodes for the title is none other than Solo Sikoa.

On last week's episode of SmackDown, Bloodline and its newest recruit Jacob Fatu launched a vicious attack on Cody Rhodes. This led to Rhodes breaking his ribs. While the extent of his injury is not known yet, the 38-year-old could be forced to drop his title if the injury is serious.

Hence, WWE could plot an angle where Solo Sikoa beats Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam possibly. While Sikoa winning a title of this caliber might seem too early, the plus side would be the fact that a title on Sikoa would look good when he faces Roman Reigns.

WWE Legend recently commented on Cody Rhodes' reign

When Cody Rhodes won the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 40, the development made many WWE fans excited. However, what made these fans even happier is the fact that Rhodes has proven himself to be a fighting champion.

Recently, WWE legend Hulk Hogan spoke about The American Nightmare's reign as champion. During a conversation with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter, Hogan was all praise for Cody Rhodes. Hogan also said that Rhodes got some serious longevity. The Hulkster said:

"I think Cody has worked real, real hard to niche out for himself. I think he deserves to be exactly where he's at. He's cool, calm, and collected, very methodical, and I think he's got some serious, serious longevity. I love his work. I love his work. He's doing a really great job up there, and I've seen some really good stuff with him and Seth [Rollins], some reallybelievable stuff, and it looks like he's on to greatness." [4:23 – 4:55]

If Cody Rhodes can stay free from injury and keep wrestling the way he is, then he could definitely go on to have a long run as champion. It will be interesting to see what the coming months hold for The American Nightmare.
