Fans are looking forward to Cody Rhodes finally finishing his story at WrestleMania 40, but those plans may be halted after The Rock's return at RAW Day 1. While there's still some haze on who Roman Reigns should face at The Show of Shows, a recent report may have pointed out that it won't be The American Nightmare.

The Rock returned at RAW Day 1 and confronted Jinder Mahal, which quickly got physical. At the end of the segment, the former WWE Champion teased about sitting at The Head of the Table. While this excited many fans, some were worried about Cody Rhodes' standing. A lot of fans suggested an alternative, suggesting that Roman Reigns vs. Dwayne Johnson should occur at Elimination Chamber, but that may not happen either.

A recent report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter states that Roman Reigns is not scheduled for the Elimination Chamber event in Australia, and there are no plans for him as of this writing.

"What we did have confirmed is the Australia rumors aren’t accurate. Roman Reigns is not even scheduled for the show [Elimination Chamber]. He’s never been advertised and there are no plans for him for that date right now."

From the looks of it, if the dream match between the Anoa'i family members does not happen at the Elimination Chamber, it will most likely happen at WrestleMania 40. With this in mind, it seems like Cody Rhodes might lose his spot at The Showcase of the Immortals and will have to find other ways to finish his story.

Fans have been looking forward for Cody to finish his story at this year's WrestleMania, especially after following his journey in WWE for the past year. While some are worried about his position at the event, the RAW star is not.

While on Sports Illustrated, Cody Rhodes acknowledged that he is up against a couple of top stars for the WrestleMania main event spot, namely Dwayne Johnson and CM Punk. Still, he is not bothered and will continue working relentlessly to earn his place on the card.

“The Rock is The Great One–he’s still electrifying. CM Punk is one of the greatest stars in the history of wrestling. I know what I’m up against. Look at the roster–it’s loaded with stars. But that doesn’t bother me. I’m not flinching. I’m not rooting against anyone else, I’m just working to make it happen.”

Should The Rock face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 instead?

As per Booker T, WWE should book Dwayne vs. Roman. The Hall of Famer reasoned that if Johnson won't do it now, he may not be able to do it at all. Booker added that the window may not open again.

It remains to be seen who will eventually main event WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia this year.
