When Cody Rhodes beat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, the victory was billed to 'finish his story'. While Rhodes' story did end in a way, his rivalry with The Bloodline remains intact. In the recent episode of SmackDown, Rhodes faced Solo Sikoa in the main event.

However, the match did not last long as The Bloodline interfered and launched a beating on The American Nightmare. Randy Orton and Kevin Owens did come out to help Rhodes, but the debut of Jacob Fatu meant the faction had the numbers advantage. Fatu landed a vicious beating on Rhodes which led to the latter breaking two of his ribs.

While many believe this rivalry with The Bloodline will end with a proper match against Solo Sikoa, that might not be the case. Cody Rhodes' rivalry with the faction will most likely come to an end against The Rock at WrestleMania 41. In this article, we will see the reasons behind the same.

Currently on SmackDown, Cody Rhodes is in an all-out feud with the villainous faction as mentioned above. He is set to team up with The Viper and The Prizefighter for a Six-Man Tag Team Match at Money in the Bank against The Bloodline.

This mixed with the rate at which The Bloodline is growing is indicative of the fact that the feud might go longer than expected. Hence, while many would expect the rivalry to settle at Money in the Bank, that might not be the case. The feud can eventually be settled with a match between Rhodes and The Rock next year.

On SmackDown, one thing was clear, and that was Sikoa's attacks were not coming at the behest of Roman Reigns. Hence, WWE can show an angle where The Rock is the man behind Sikoa. At SummerSlam, The Enforcer could face Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

This particular match would witness the return of Roman Reigns, who confronts Sikoa and looks to reclaim his place at The Head of the Table. However, after resistance, WWE can show an angle where Reigns teams up with Rhodes, Orton, and Owens to take on the Sikoa-led Bloodline at Survivor Series: WarGames later this year. A potential win for Rhodes and his team would force The Rock to come back to make his mark.

This potential feud could continue until next year.

If The Bloodline keeps growing the way it is, then one thing is clear and that is the fact that Cody Rhodes will always be under threat. So even if The American Nightmare beats members of The Bloodline at different premium live events, he would eventually have to wait for The Final Boss to arrive and settle the rivalry.

Hence, when The Rock returns next year, Rhodes could face him at WrestleMania 41 while Sikoa could face Roman Reigns. In the coming months, it will be interesting to see how the entire storyline plays out.
