Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns created a rivalry that can be considered one of the top stories of the modern era. They battled at WrestleMania 39 and 40, with The American Nightmare dethroning The Original Tribal Chief at this year's Show of Shows. However, they could now combine forces to form a dream team.
Reigns went on hiatus after this year's 'Mania and returned at SummerSlam 2024 during Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa. Had The Original Tribal Chief not interfered in the match, The Street Champion of the Island probably would have dethroned him due to The Bloodline's interference. Interestingly, and to the champion's surprise, The Head of the Table did not lay a finger on him.
Once Cody Rhodes is done battling Solo Sikoa, he may be directionless. Meanwhile, The Bloodline leader will have to deal with Roman Reigns next. Ideally, The Original Tribal Chief will reunite with The Usos to take on The Bloodline at Survivor Series, but they will be one member short. This is when The American Nightmare can be introduced as the fourth member of the Reigns-led squad.
The fact that two huge babyfaces are working in the company at the same time is impactful and rare. Furthermore, both of them coming together, especially after their legendary rivalry, to take down the most ruthless faction in WWE is nothing short of cinema-worthy storytelling.
Cody Rhodes might not face Randy Orton at Survivor Series 2024
The American Nightmare vs. The Legend Killer has been on fans' wishlists for a while now. While everyone agrees it'll be a powerful rivalry, Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton are convinced now is not the time for it.
The Apex Predator has signed a five-year deal with the Stamford-based promotion, and it will allow him to explore various creative directions. Keeping that in mind, he does not need to rush anything.
"I know you're alluding to Cody [Rhodes] and the title he is holding right now, and maybe I wanted to get my hands on that, but I have talked about how I've been doing this for a long time. I'm going to continue to be doing it for a much longer time. I just signed a five-year extension, so I don't need to hurry up and get anything done. I've got all the time in the world as far as I'm concerned," Orton said in an interview with Vicente Beltran.
Since The American Nightmare and The Legend Killer might not lock horns at Survivor Series 2024, the former could help Roman Reigns battle The Bloodline.
