#2. To keep Bobby Lashley and Seth Rollins in contention post-Day 1
The realistic chance of Bobby Lashley getting pinned at Day 1 seems slim. While it's not impossible since Big E has pinned Lashley multiple times on RAW before, the "fall guy" of the match is expected to be none other than Kevin Owens.
With Owens' contract expiring at the end of January 2022, the WWE title match could be his last shot at world title gold in the promotion. In what could come as disappointing news to fans, KO is reportedly expected to leave the company soon, meaning he will be taking the pinfall at the pay-per-view.
This means that Bobby Lashley can remain in contention for the WWE title after losing at Day 1. The Fatal-Four-Way could turn into a triple threat for the Royal Rumble as Owens will be two days away from his contract expiring.
It means that this feud will play out longer than fans expect and that The All Mighty won't be done even if/when he loses at Day 1.
