Dean Ambrose to star next in WWE Studios upcoming movie

Dean Ambrose to star in a WWE studios movie

We noted earlier back in May that WWE Studios signed a production deal with Lionsgate for a total six films. The first project titled Vendetta, features The Big Show and is an action thriller where he plays the role of a detective looking to avenge his wife’s killer.

For the second movie Lockdown, it has now been confirmed that Dean Ambrose will play the lead role. The film will be directed by Stephen Reynolds who directed Tomb Raider: Ascension and the production will start his month which means that Ambrose will be taking time off from the WWE for the filming schedule.

The story follows a police officer who finds himself trapped inside his own precinct and hunted after crooked cops stop at nothing to recover incriminating evidence of illegal activities against those closest to him.

"Lockdown will continue to energize and excite with the high level of adrenaline our fans have come to expect from our films," said WWE Studios president Michael Luisi.
