Big E made his massive return on the latest episode of RAW for the tenth-anniversary celebrations of The New Day. The former WWE Champion reunited with his friends, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, but things did not go as planned.
Kofi and Xavier took several shots at Big E and turned their backs on the latter, eventually kicking him out of the faction. At the same time, Kingston and Woods stayed together and had a heel turn.
The 38-year-old star was forced to leave the ring and it is unclear if he will return to the Stamford-based company in the future. Woods said during the segment that Big E will 'never be medically cleared again.' If that is the case, the only way he could come back is in an executive role, taking over Monday Night RAW as the new General Manager, if Adam Pearce leaves his position soon.
The former NXT Champion signed a five-year deal with WWE back in 2019, which is set to expire at the end of the year. There is no update on whether he has agreed to a new deal with the company or whether WWE has extended his contract as a result of his serious neck injury that has sidelined him since March 2022.

For the time being, it is safe to say that unless he gets medically cleared soon, it should take quite a while before we see the 38-year-old star competing in the ring again.
WWE Superstar Big E does not rule out retirement amid recovery from neck surgery
It has been more than two years since Big E last competed in a WWE ring. A serious neck injury on the March 11, 2022, episode of SmackDown has sidelined him since then.
Amid reports that he could return to the ring if WWE medically cleared him to compete, the 38-year-old star wrote an article in The Players' Tribune and did not rule out retirement, writing that he was "at peace" with whatever happened in the past and that if he does not get a chance to compete in the ring ever again.
"I'm at peace. And if that's truly a wrap on my in-ring career...I'm excited to explore the paths that are opening up for me in its wake...Whether it's working for WWE outside of the ring, or it's hosting, or acting, or voice work, or filmmaking, or so many other things. I feel like there are still so many parts of myself for me to discover," Big E wrote. [H/T WrestlingINC]
It remains to be seen whether the former WWE Champion eventually makes his return to in-ring competition in the Stamford-based company.
