Brock Lesnar has been one of the most dominant and successful wrestlers of all-time in WWE, having claimed almost all the major titles during his stint with the Stamford-based company.

One of his best WWE moments was when he made a surprise return and assaulted Mustafa Ali to win the 2019 Money in the Bank Ladder match.

During the match, Mustafa Ali suffered an injury, but as the former WWE star revealed during an interview with Chris Van Vliet, it wasn't Brock Lesnar's fault, but it was rather part of the storyline.

"And the thing is, he was so nice about the push that I overcompensated. I was expecting this violent shove, so I launched myself off the ladder. I hit the top rope with my mouth, cut it open, and hurt myself pretty bad - all my fault. Meanwhile, Brock was just a total pro about the whole thing. Absolute class act," Mustafa Ali said. The outcome of the match came as a surprise since the expectation among fans was that Mustafa Ali would go on to become Mr. Money in the Bank.

Mustafa Ali says no one knew that Brock Lesnar would return at Money in the Bank

On most occassions, it is the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event that sees superstars make their return to WWE. Back in 2019, though, it was the Money in the Bank PLE that saw The Beast Incarnate make his WWE comeback.

What is more interesting, though, was that no one knew that Brock Lesnar would make his return to the business and would go on to win the 2019 Money in the Bank briefcase.

"None of the other guys in the match knew. Finn didn’t know. Randy didn’t know. Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre, Andrade - none of them knew. I was the only one. As I’m walking down, I’m not saying anything to anyone. I’m just focused on the match. The match happens, and I’m climbing up the ladder, and man, I know people are like, ‘Why didn’t you just grab the briefcase and win?’ It’s because my boss told me not to!" Mustafa Ali said. A couple of months after claiming the MITB brifecase, Brock Lesnar went on to cash it in on Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules and become the new Universal Champion.
