It has been six weeks since fans last saw CM Punk in WWE. The Best in the World last appeared on the October 7 episode of Monday Night RAW, two days after his Hell in a Cell victory over Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood.

CM Punk said he would take time off WWE and even questioned if he would be able to wrestle again. However, the superstar is not expected to leave the company anytime soon.

Instead, he is currently advertised for a Live Event at Madison Square Garden on Thursday, December 26, which would mark nearly three months since his last WWE appearance.

It is unclear what he will do at MSG, and there is no indication if he will return sooner than that to work either Survivor Series: WarGames (November 30) or Saturday Night's Main Event (December 14).

Punk has targeted reigning World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, but is expected to re-ignite his feud with Seth Rollins, with the two megastars seemingly set for a blockbuster clash at WrestleMania 41.

Former SmackDown Tag Team Champion says he wants to face CM punk

CM Punk is set for big-time matches going forward, but there is another superstar who is ready to face him. And this superstar is former SmackDown Tag Team Champion Grayson Waller.

In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Grayson Waller, one-half of the A-Town Down Under faction, explained why it would be fun to go after the Best in the World:

"There’s one guy that I think I’d make magic with and that’s CM Punk. I think the way CM Punk does his business, the way he talks, I’d have so much fun with that. I can just feel it. Even the small interactions that we’ve had — I threw a little bit of trash talk at him before he got here just in case he ever did and now that he’s here, I feel like me and Punk would have a lot of fun," Grayson Waller said. For the match to happen, Grayson Waller has to move to RAW and go on a singles run, as it is not likely at the moment that Punk will move to SmackDown, since Netflix views him as a key member of the red brand. RAW will move to Netflix on January 6, 2025.
