The mystery partner of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn on WWE RAW tonight may have been spoiled. After losing to Finn Balor and Damian Priest last week due to a distraction by The Imperium, the tag team champs will have the opportunity to settle scores with Gunther's forces. A formidable rival of the Intercontinental Champion could return to aid them in the three-man tag action.
A recent addition to WWE RAW's babyface division, Drew McIntyre was last seen competing against Gunther and Sheamus at WrestleMania 39. There have been major concerns about his future as his contract will supposedly expire next year and he didn't participate in the World Heavyweight Championship tournament. Rumors also indicate that he is unhappy with the creative.
In a potential good news though, Drew McIntyre might be on his way to the ring. WWE recently tweeted a preview for the trio's match on RAW tonight and asked fans who the team of KO-Zayn should pick as their partner. The Scottish Warrior retweeted and quickly un-retweeted the post as if he had just messed up his grand return plans.
Charlotte Flair to return and wrestle a CURRENT CHAMPION?
It's worth mentioning that Drew McIntyre hasn't been active on social media as of late. In fact, he has blacked out his Twitter account and his last post dating back to April 3 was that of waving/goodbye emojis. WWE Superstars, in general, black out their accounts to either signal a character transition or keep fans vested in questions like, "What's up with this guy?" until their anticipated return.
Drew McIntyre has a lot of options after his return on WWE RAW
If The Scottish Warrior does return this Monday, he is likely to resume his program against Imperium. McIntyre hasn't had a one-on-one clash with Gunther so far. Their showdown could be set for the Money in the Bank event in July, with Drew potentially getting his deserved championship win after losing high-profile matches countless times since last year.
The World Heavyweight Championship will also be on the red brand. He is suspected to turn heel and begin a program with Seth Rollins, who is the favorite to defeat AJ Styles at Night of Champions. Their rivalry for the new Big Gold Belt could make up for some solid moments heading to the summer.
The Scottish Warrior is known for his one-man army persona, having feuded with The Bloodline and the Imperium, so his next target could be The Judgment Day. He is bound to stand against the likes of Finn Balor and Damian Priest because the stable has been part of multiple storylines during the same time, being one the hottest acts on WWE RAW.
