It has been several months since Omos last appeared in WWE. He was part of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on April 5 but hasn't been seen in action again since then.
During the weekend, though, the former tag team champion attended a UFC event alongside fellow WWE Superstars Rey Mysterio and Braun Strowman, with the three superstars taking a picture with UFC President Dana White.
There has been no update yet on what could be next for the former champion in WWE and whether we will see him back on live TV soon. Heading into the RAW premiere on Netflix on January 6, Omos could be part of the show.
However, even if that happens, the expectation is that he will stay in the mid-card and might not be in contention for the major titles, while a shot at the tag team titles could be a possibility.
Former WWE star is not optimistic about Omos' return on WWE TV
It has been eight months since Omos last competed in WWE and it is unknown if and what role he will make his return to WWE TV. A former WWE star is also not very optimistic about the former tag team champion's future with the company and whether the WWE creative team had any plans for him.
During an appearance at K&S WrestleFest in late October, Bobby Lashley shared his thoughts on Omos' absence from live TV and whether the latter will start a new storyline in the main roster or he will part ways with the company.
"I think he should be [back on TV]. Unfortunately, I don’t know. I don’t know. The way that things have changed, I don’t see him having that opportunity. I hope that me saying that gives him that opportunity. But a lot of people haven’t had that opportunity, and a lot of people kind of went separate ways with them. So, I don’t know what is going on right now. There’s a lot of really good talent that left," Bobby Lashley said. [H/T - Figure Four Online]
Bobby Lashley exited WWE in the summer and recently signed with AEW, reuniting with MVP and Shelton Benjamin. It remains to be seen if the former tag team champion will follow a similar path if there is no place for him in WWE.
