The Vince McMahon docuseries, Mr. McMahon, has got everyone talking. Delving into the rise and fall of perhaps the greatest promoter in pro wrestling history, the Netflix show has caused quite the buzz. Several fans and pro wrestlers have shared their two cents about the series, but what are the thoughts of the man himself? What did the former WWE Chairman think of the documentary, and did he approve of it?

Mr. McMahon focuses heavily on the duality between Vince McMahon and his on-screen character in the Stamford-based promotion. As such, it makes way for plenty of speculation on whether or not there is any difference between the two. And it is for this very reason that the former chairman of the board didn't approve the final cut of the docuseries.

Taking to X (Twitter) just hours before the release of the Mr. McMahon docuseries, the 79-year-old issued a strongly worded statement. While Vince claimed he did not regret participating in the documentary, he accused the producers of blowing things out of proportion. The former WWE CEO suggested that Netflix had the chance to make an objective documentary, but upon seeing the partial cut, he realized they chose to narrate a story in which they could conflate the character of Mr. McMahon with his true self.

As a result, he believed that a lot of things had been misrepresented or left out entirely to paint such a picture. Moreover, Vince claimed that editing tricks had been used to confuse the viewers and distort their perception.

Bruce Prichard is also unhappy with how Vince McMahon has been portrayed

Vince McMahon wasn't the only person who was displeased with how Netflix portrayed him in the docuseries. Bruce Prichard also felt that the documentary did not do justice to the man in question. In fact, he took issue with the portrayal during the filming of the documentary.

In the final episode of the series, Prichard was brought in for an interview. At the time, he had seen a partial cut of the show and was asked for his thoughts. To quote him, he thought that ''it "su**ed!" The WWE Executive Director claimed that it was nothing more than a "gotcha" piece filmed to make Vince look bad.

Like Prichard, there will undoubtedly be many who take issue with the series. That said, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and regardless of whether it receives praise or criticism, it gives viewers a sneak peek into the man, the myth, and the legend that is Mr. McMahon.
